The next UFC event will be UFC 225 which is this weekend from Chicago, and this card looks like it’s going to be a winner, with plenty of interesting matches as well as a great main event.
There’s plenty to get to, and with netbet.co.uk you can get in on all the great action this weekend from the Wind City.
Let’s get right to the action with this look at the card.
CM Punk vs Mike Jackson
Prediction – Mike Jackson by 1st round submission
Jackson is going to do exactly to CM Punk what happened last time in his first pro fight in Cleveland – and that is wait for him to make an early mistake, and take the former WWE Champion down and make him submit. It would be a shock to see this go over 2 minutes in my opinion.
Andrei Arlovski vs Tai Tuivasa
Prediction – Tai Tuivasa by second round KO
Tuivasa has plenty in his arsenal to put Arlovski to sleep, and this isn’t the best match on the card by far and probably shouldn’t have a spot on the main card, but it does, so let’s make the best of it for two blah fighters.
Holly Holm vs Megan Anderson
Prediction – Holly Holm by Majority Decision
It’s the long-awaited debut on the big stage for Megan Anderson, but it comes against Holm, who should be able to get the job done working over Anderson for 15 minutes. Holm overall looked solid in her win over Cyborg her last time out. Holm will be able to stay composed long enough and should be able to take out Anderson and score enough points for the win.
Rafeal dos Anjos vs Colby Covington for the “Interim” Welterweight Championship
Prediction – RDS by decision
This should be a solid bout, but the issue I have is that Covington really doesn’t have any big wins to his name, and I can’t see him getting one here. When you look at him as a pro fighter, he has the big knockout loss to “Warley Alves,” but that’s really about it. It’s interesting for him to be in this role against Anjos, and there’s no doubt that if RDS does what he should, he should be able to score a decision and take home the gold.
Robert Whittaker vs Yoel Romero for the Middleweight Championship
Prediction – Whittaker by decision
This is going to be a fun one, and there’s no doubt that Romero will hang around and make this interesting, and he’ll probably even win a round (or two) before Romero really gets it going and turns it around, eventually doing enough to earn and decision and the win. Whittaker has the stamina and the quicker hands, which in the end will be enough to get the win, but not before Whittaker puts on the best effort he can.
All in all, it should be an exciting night of fights!
